Euphorbia Obesa

The Euphorbia Obesa, more commonly known as the Baseball Plant is one of the rarest succulents from South Africa. Owing to it resembling a baseball and having a smooth green grey exterior with slightly faded horizontal stripes it is indeed a collector’s item. Euphorbia Obesa is slow growing and maintains a low profile, this tree is best suited for indoor planting or in small yards. With time the stem of this succulent can elongate such that it can assume a cylindrical appearance which is also keenly attractive.

This is an easy to grow plant that loves full shade or filtered sunlight and does not demand much attention. Euphorbia Obesa also come under succulent plants so they also store water in their stem and can endure in extreme dry conditions. Its ideal planting media is one with good drainage and the plant should only be watered when the soil is dry through and through. This makes it ideal for the new grower and the experienced plant collector who wants a distinctive, easy-care plant to add to his collection. Also, Euphorbia Obesa has ability to yield flowers that are very small and practically hidden at the apex of the plant but which still introduce a touch of beauty.
