Senecio - String of Pearls

This perennial succulent has long, trailing, or ascending stems covered with uniform rounded cleistogamous yellowish green to maroon flowers that are formed from beads of foliage. This is a popular plant among the devotees of succulents because of its special look and low requirements to the conditions for its growing, which makes it a perfect decoration of hanging baskets, pots, and others vases or plants for interior decoration. Some species of the lovely cascading plants can reach a few feet in length and are perfect as art pieces.

It has carried preference to bright, indirect and filtered light and is very drought-indifferent hence it should be watered sparingly. If it is properly tended, the String of Pearls from the Senecio genus may bloom small white flowers with a beautiful cinnamon scent to boot .
