Pachypodium Madagascar Palm
Description:
Discover the enchantment of the Pachypodium Madagascar Palm, a captivating succulent that brings a touch of Madagascar's unique beauty to your space. Elevate your plant collection with this majestic specimen, known for its striking resemblance to a palm tree.
Leaves & Appearance:
Pachypodium lamerei (Madagascar Palm), a native of Madagascar, is a magnificent semi-deciduous or deciduous succulent shrub or small tree. Its strong, spiny, cigar-shaped trunk is crowned with a cluster of strap-shaped, glossy green leaves up to one foot (30 cm) long.
The base thickens and swells with age. Branching begins after the first flowering, which typically occurs when the plant reaches 5 feet (150 cm). Mature plants (10 years old) may bloom in the summer, producing fragrant, saucer-shaped white blooms 4 in across (10 cm) with golden-yellow throats.
Cultural Considerations:
Thriving in well-draining soil and basking in full sunlight, the Madagascar Palm is a hardy succulent, adapting well to arid conditions. With minimal water requirements and occasional fertilization, it stands as a testament to the resilience and beauty of Madagascar's flora.
The succulent plant housed in the red pot comes in a 190mm diameter container. While the image provides a representative depiction of what you will receive, but may vary slightly because no two succulents are the same.
