Mammillaria prolifera, commonly known as the Texas nipple cactus, is a delightful and prolific small cactus native to the southern United States and Mexico.
Growth Habit: Mammillaria prolifera is a small, globular cactus that typically grows in dense clusters. It can quickly form large mats or mounds covered in spherical to cylindrical stems, each measuring up to 2 inches in height and about the same in diameter.
Spine Characteristics: This cactus is covered with small, conical tubercles from which emerge radial spines.
Flowers: Mammillaria prolifera blooms profusely with small, creamy-yellow flowers that encircle the crown of the stem.
