Espostoa melanostele is a striking columnar cactus native to the mountainous regions of Peru. Known for its unique woolly appearance, this cactus is densely covered in soft, white hairs that protect it from intense sunlight and temperature fluctuations. Beneath the wool, sharp spines add to its natural defense and distinctive look.

This slow-growing species can reach impressive heights over time, developing ribbed, upright stems that make it a standout in any cactus or succulent collection. Mature plants may produce a cephalium—a special flowering zone—from which small, tubular, nocturnal flowers may emerge.

Espostoa melanostele thrives in bright, indirect to full sunlight and requires well-draining soil. Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry completely between waterings. It is ideal for container growing, rock gardens, and xeriscapes, offering both texture and architectural interest.

Perfect for collectors or those looking to add a sculptural element to their garden or indoor plant display.

The succulent plant housed in the red pot comes in a 130mm diameter container. While the image provides a representative depiction of what you will receive, but may vary slightly because no two succulents are the same.
