Kalanchoe Tomentosa Black Edge

The Kalanchoe Tomentosa ‘Black Edge’ is also known as the Panda Plant because of its black edges, and many gardening enthusiasts add it to their collection due to its beautiful velvety grey-green leaves. Its leaves are oval shaped and fleshy and measures about 2cm in diameter with small hairs making the plant to be fuzzy leaving it to be unique among all the succulents. Black lines at the margin of the leaves go well with silvery-green turned foliage and that is why this plants look very bright in any collection. Kalanchoe Tomentosa ‘Black Edge’ comes from Madagascar and is a low maintenance plant that prefers to grow in a variety of conditions, whether inside a home or outside.

This plant is best grown in small pots where the soil does not hold water: it thrives in bright, filtered light. They require little water and should be watered adequately, then the soil left to dry before watering again to avoid root rot. Even though K Tomentosa ‘Black Edge’ does not bloom indoors it can bloom small tubes like flowers when grown under natural conditions and this gives it an added beauty all through. It is a low growing plant, reaching a maximum height of about thirty centimeters, or twelve inches, and can do well in small pots, succulent garden or decorative pots.
