Oreocereus doelzianus, commonly known as the "Old Man of the Andes," is a species of cactus that is native to high-altitude regions of the Andes mountains in South America.

The plant is characterized by dense, white hairs that cover its stem, giving it a shaggy, "old man" appearance. The hairs are actually modified spines, which serve to protect the plant from harsh weather conditions and also reflect sunlight, reducing the risk of sun damage.

Oreocereus doelzianus produces beautiful pink or purple flowers that bloom at night and are pollinated by moths. The flowers are followed by small, edible fruits that are a source of food for local animals and people.

This cactus is adapted to living in harsh, arid conditions and is able to survive long periods of drought by storing water in its stem. It is also able to tolerate extreme temperatures, ranging from freezing temperatures at night to scorching heat during the day.

The succulent plant housed in the red pot comes in a 80mm diameter container. While the image provides a representative depiction of what you will receive, but may vary slightly because no two succulents are the same.
